About

Cherie Bauer (b.1955) creates her artwork at her home studio in Lakewood, Ohio. Her practice entices one to stop and look longer. Complex layers of marks, symbols and patterns invite the viewer to reflect on the tragedy, loss, survival and growth of life’s journey. Over a period of 48 years, she has exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art, Virginia Museum, Ohio Arts Council and Ohio University, studied and taught art. It has been a lifelong pursuit culminating with the completion of her MFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2026.
